“Dancing Wolf!” Aleksandra said, and bolted back to return the rifle to its rack and shot out the door with a laugh. She reached the pair as the Indian slid from the horse.
He pulled the thong serving as a bridle from the pinto’s mouth, and the horse trotted away to trade scratches with Rogan over the gate.
The scowl on her childhood friend’s face stopped her for a moment. She peered at him from the corners of her eyes.
